Michael Waizman

Artist Bio

Michael Waizman

Michael Waizman, born in 1966 in the northern Israeli town of Migdal Ha’Emek in Galilee, showed a passion for art from a young age. His early years were filled with exploration of various art forms, as he dedicated school hours to sketching, drawing, and doodling rather than traditional studies.

In his twenties, alongside his work as an artist, Michael discovered a keen interest in silk printing techniques, initially intended for industrial and commercial uses. This screen printing process, also known as serigraphy, was widely embraced by prominent Pop Art figures like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Over time, Michael incorporated silk printing into his artistic language, making it a core part of his expression.

With the advent of digital technology, Michael embraced computerized graphics, which opened up new possibilities for his work and expanded his creative repertoire. In recent years, his focus has shifted towards creating iconic imagery that merges past and present, combining familiar figures and themes.

Michael’s unique style is marked by a blend of collage, silk printing, drawing, painting, and digital techniques, producing vivid, impactful visuals that resonate deeply with art lovers and collectors.

For much of his career, Michael created art as a personal journey, sharing his work mainly with close friends and family. However, recent encouragement from peers and the art community led him to share his creations more widely. Today, Michael’s works are featured in numerous galleries worldwide, from the United States to Singapore, Hong Kong, and other international art scenes.
